Important Information before attending courses at A.I.M.:
All students must be legally able to purchase a firearm*. Other pre-requisites to show legal status (one will suffice):
- Kentucky Concealed Carry Permit
- Recent Graduation from a school which requires credentials or character reference
- A personal letter of reference from any Sheriff, Police Chief, or Minister/Chaplain.
*Minor children may participate if they are accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian (who does not have to be enrolled but who must pass the credential requirements). - Military Identification Card
These Prerequisites do not apply to the following courses:
- Kentucky Concealed Carry Permit Training (A Kentucky Drivers License will be required at sign-in)

1911 Operator Course

Introduction to the Self Defense Handgun — DH1

This course consists of small group and individual instruction.
DH-1 is developed to create a platform to the new handgun owner of the operation and safety aspects of their handgun.
DH-1 is a stand alone course and is not a prerequisite for any other course at The American Institute of Marksmanship.
This course is a great course to take prior to your concealed carry license course or by itself to teach a new shooter how their new firearm operates. We accept all ages according to the students abilities to handle the make and model of their firearm.
Any student wishing to participate in the course under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
